Everything is standard with the kit, the smartphone is equipped only with everything you need.

The bundled headset headphones are of rather modest quality, they will do for conversations, but to listen to music, you should immediately think about replacing them.

Design and management

FlyFS502 Cirrus 1 is made in a classic candybar form factor. At the first glance, we had a certain déjà vu, the smartphone with its body shape and general outlines is similar to the popular Google nexus 5, even mechanical buttons are also located. The body materials are traditional. The front panel is completely closed protective glass which resists scratches quite well. This glass has an oleophobic coating, which means it is not very dirty and can be easily wiped with a napkin. The bezels around the screen are wide, which is a certain indicator of the device's rank, but we still have a very budget solution. The body of the smartphone has clear and rather sharp shapes, the corners are very slightly rounded, the device looks like a man. Back cover pleasant to the touch, it is made of thin ribbed plastic with a chrome logo applied in the center. The material is completely non-slip, thanks to which the smartphone does not strive to slip out of the hand. The build quality is excellent, the elements fit very tightly to each other, there are no cracks, the case does not creak or crack.

Three touch buttons are located under the screen - "Back", "Home" and "Menu". They are made in the typical Android 5.1 style. Backlight medium brightness.

Above the screen the earpiece, front-camera a resolution of 2 megapixels, as well as a proximity and light sensor. The sensors are working correctly, no complaints.

The main camera with LED flash is located in the upper left corner of the rear surface of the body. Resolution 8 megapixels, there is autofocus. The quality of the photo is pretty good, we'll talk about this a little later.

At the bottom, there is a grille, under which the main speaker is hidden. The sound quality is average, extraneous crackles are heard at a high volume level. The volume reserve is sufficient. It should be noted that the grille is flat, which means that when the smartphone is placed with the speaker down, the sound is noticeably muffled.

Mechanical volume and power buttons are located on opposite sides of the case. On the right is the power button, on the left is the volume rocker. The location is ambiguous, adding sound with your index finger is not the most convenient exercise. The buttons are plastic, the stroke is short, pressing is practically silent. It is also worth noting the edging around the perimeter of the smartphone, it is plastic and without any shiny coatings.

The audio output is on the top, and the microUSB port is on the bottom. A hole with a microphone is noticeable near the port.

Even despite the rather wide bezels around the screen, the smartphone is compact in size. Dimensions are 142.7 x 72.45 mm, with a thickness of 8.8 mm. Fits perfectly in the hand, does not strive to slip out. It takes up little space in your pocket. By the way, the weight is a little over 143 grams, which is also quite a bit. In general, FlyFS502 Cirrus 1 does not feel like a "shovel" at all, a neat, compact smartphone.

The back cover is removable and opens without any problems. Under the cover is the battery, which we will talk about a little later, the card slot microSD memory HC and two SIM slots. One Micro-SIM card and one Mini-SIM are used. Since there is only one radio module, SIM cards work in alternating mode (Dual SIM Dual Standby). When talking on one card, the second will be unavailable, this mode is typical for almost all budget (and not so) smartphones. One SIM card works only with GSM (2G) networks, and the second with both GSM (2G) and UMTS (3G), LTE networks(4G) are unfortunately not supported.

Screen

The smartphone is equipped with a 5-inch screen with IPS-matrix, aspect ratio 16: 9. The resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels, in principle, is quite enough for such a diagonal. The pixel density of 293 ppi provides a smooth picture without "ladders" and individual dots around the edges of icons or letters. Color transitions are smooth and imperceptible. The color rendition is good, only a very slight shift to the cold side is noticeable, but in everyday use, hardly anyone will pay attention to this. The screen supports up to 5 simultaneous touches, which will be enough for any application.

The viewing angles are wide, which is typical even for inexpensive matrices. With significant deviations, the change in color and brightness is minimal.

The backlight uniformity is good. Small areas of light are visible only in the lower part of the screen, but in everyday use they will not cause any inconvenience.

Operating system and software

Cirrus 1 runs an operating system Android version 5.1 Lollipop. And this fact cannot but rejoice, since on this moment this system is very up-to-date and even some of the more expensive models have not been updated to this version. any proprietary shell is missing, so we have before us the so-called "naked" Android.

The main desktop looks quite familiar, a clock with a calendar in the center, a search from Google on top. at the bottom there are several folders with the most used applications, as well as icons for quickly navigating to the main functions (phone, sms, browser and camera). The lowering curtain consists of two parts, if you pull it 1 time, various notifications will appear in front of us, pulling it again you can see the control icons wireless networks, navigation and so on. A long press on an empty space on the desktop allows you to go through the settings menu of this very table. From here you can change your wallpaper, add widgets or go to advanced settings.

Only applications are displayed in the menu. There are quite a few of them here, except standard programs from Google there is a set of preinstalled software from the manufacturer, however, all this is free, available in Google play applications.

It is difficult to single out some of the applications, there is an online cinema Megogo, an application from banks, a selection of games, VKontakte, 2Gis and so on. Also, Clean Master is initially installed, with which you can easily clean memory of unnecessary files.

"Dialer" and a tool for writing sms are typical for Android 5.1, quite functional and convenient. The keyboard supports continuous text input.

Since a smartphone involves the use of two SIM-cards, you need functionality to switch between them. From the settings, you can set the default used card for calls, sms or data transfer. You can also put and "Ask every time", then when activating the Internet or when making a call, the user will be prompted with which SIM card to do it.

Performance and memory

Considering the technical characteristics of the smartphone, the hardware platform Spreadtrum SC7731 is of the greatest interest. We haven’t seen smartphones on this platform before, so we don’t know what to expect from it. Judging by data from open sources, Spreadtrum SC7731 is very close to MediaTek MT6582 in terms of performance. Yes, the processor is far from new, but it is still used in budget solutions. In our case, we have 4 Cortex-A7 cores with a frequency of 1.2 GHz, a Mali-400 MP2 video core and 1 GB random access memory, of which about 400 MB are available to the user. Built-in memory 8 GB, about 5.5 GB available.

The set of combined and processor tests showed very average results, but taking into account the price of the smartphone, this was quite expected. In the AnTuTu test, they got 19323 points. seemingly not bad, but not in 2015.

The capabilities of the Mali-400 MP2 have long been known to everyone. Taking into account the resolution of 1280x720 pixels, it copes well with its tasks. NenaMark2 has almost 49 fps.

Now it's worth talking about the general impression of the performance. Everything in the interface is absolutely smooth, no significant freezes and lags. Internet surfing is comfortable, 5 open bookmarks in Chrome do not cause any discomfort. As for games, a smartphone is definitely not a game one, but you can pass the time with simple time-killers. Heavier toys are also launched, but at low or medium settings. Asphalt 8 or Dead Trigger 2 works quite comfortably.

Multimedia

The smartphone, of course, copes with the playback of popular video and music formats from both internal memory and from the network. The sound, as already mentioned, is not the best, at a high volume level, the external speaker emits extraneous sounds, the sound in the headphones is not bad, only the bundled headphones are of rather poor quality, so it is better to replace them right away. The AnTuTu Video Tester application showed inconsistent results, does not play at all, or reproduces with problems MKV format with a resolution of 2K and 4K, video in WMV format with a resolution of 1080P also did not work. however, it should be noted that the most common files work without problems.

Wireless interfaces

FlyFS502 Cirrus 1 supports a basic set of wireless interfaces. cellular represented by the standards GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and UMTS 900/2100 MHz, LTE is not supported. The reception quality of both 2G and 3G networks is excellent; within the city, no problems arose during operation. For high-speed Internet access, you can use Wi-Fi networks 802.11 a / b / g / n, signal reception is also confident, a few meters from the router the scale shows the maximum value, the Internet speed is close to the declared tariff. For navigation installed GPS module with A-GPS support. The cold start took no more than two minutes, 14 satellites were detected, of which 5 were used.

Camera

The main camera has a resolution of 8 megapixels, has autofocus and flash. Although the camera sensor is far from advanced, it handles photos very well. With sufficient lighting, the image is sufficiently detailed and with natural colors. Under poor shooting conditions, of course, it is very difficult to get an acceptable photo quality. The video is shot in Full HD resolution, the quality is also good.

As for the settings, there are quite a few of them here. Advanced users will be able to play with white balance, sensitivity, and so on. There are also ready-made presets for various shooting conditions.

Examples of photos:

The camera has an HDR mode, for an example of how this mode works, here's a photo. Left without HDR, right with HDR.

Autonomous work

The device is powered by a 2050 mAh lithium polymer battery. The battery, to be honest, is not impressive, but the relative thinness of the case did not allow installing a more capacious model. The battery is fully charged in over 2 hours.

First of all, we checked the battery life under heavy load in the AnTuTu Tester battery test. From 100% to 14%, the smartphone was discharged in 3 hours, while the final score was 4756. Quite a bit. In everyday use, the charge is enough for a day of not very intensive use. The Cirrus 1 will run for 6 hours in movie viewing mode, while in games the battery will be discharged in 4 hours. Thus, we see the average indicators of autonomy, typical for most budget smartphones with similar characteristics.

Eventually

FlyFS502 Cirrus 1 turned out to be quite balanced and pleasant smartphone. Yes, it sometimes lacks performance for games, it does not have a record autonomy or a super-quality screen, but all this is justified by its acceptable price. The first thing that can surprise the Cirrus 1 is current version system and decent appearance, the smartphone looks quite high quality and expensive. The performance will be enough for most daily tasks, and another for potential buyers this device and it is not necessary.

The price of FlyFS502 Cirrus 1 at the moment is 6490 rubles, which is acceptable for this class of device.

Pros:

  • Good quality materials and workmanship;
  • Good IPS screen
  • The current version of the operating system;
  • Decent main camera.

Minuses:

  • Lack of LTE support.

Can budget smartphones not only be a compromise, but also please their owner? Quite, and as we could see earlier, the current level of filling used in the entry-level segment has improved markedly in recent years. Fierce competition, rivaling the flagship segment, had a good impact. Today we got the Fly FS502 Cirrus 1, this is the first detailed review of this model on the web. Its announcement took place at the end of August and its sales have already started.

At the time of testing, the average cost, according to the Yandex.Market service, was 7,590 rubles. For this price, an IPS HD screen, a neat body, Android 5.1, 1 GB of RAM and support for memory cards are offered.

Equipment

The smartphone comes in a compact package with bright printing. The technical specifications are detailed on the reverse side.

The package includes: charging power supply, microUSB cable, headphones, a set of technical documentation.

Appearance

Fly FS502 Cirrus 1 is made in the form of a classic candy bar. And it looks very good for its budget. Sharp lines are combined with smooth transitions.

There will be only one color option available - black. Dimensions are 142.7 x 72.45 x 8.8 mm and weighs 143.7 grams. It fits comfortably in the hand, the scenario of working with the fingers of one hand is quite comfortable.

The budget did not negatively affect the screen protector, glass was installed to protect it from scratches and damages. Additionally, there is a protruding side edge that raises the screen when placed on a flat surface.

An interesting texture of the back cover, a honeycomb pattern reminiscent of carbon. Due to this, fingerprints are not visible and it does not slip out of your hands.

In the center of the cover there is a Fly logo, a camera unit with LED flash in the corner and an oblong speaker grill on the bottom. It is not covered by the palm.

The side face is flat, the power button is located on the right, the volume rocker is on the left. The location, by sensations, is too high, with a normal grip, movement of the fingers is required, but on the other hand, the number of false clicks is reduced.

Three more buttons for Fly FS502 Cirrus 1 are located on the lower frame, they are not illuminated. Top frame: front camera peephole.

Unlike modern flagships, the case is collapsible. The user can replace the battery without contacting service center... The lid fits snugly against the body, you need a little effort to remove it.

Under it there are two compartments for SIMs of different sizes, here is also a slot for a microSD memory card.

The body is assembled perfectly, there is no squeak or backlash of parts.

Screen

Installed 5-inch S-IPS-screen with HD resolution. Great combination, usually a lower pixel density is offered in this budget. The strengths include the maximum viewing angles and good color rendering.

The backlighting is uniform, the maximum brightness level is at an average level. Image fades in direct sunlight. The picture is juicy, the fonts are legible.

Filling

The heart of the Fly FS502 Cirrus 1 is the Spreadtrum SC7731 quad-core processor with an operating frequency of 1.2 GHz. These are Cortex A7 cores and Mali-400 MP2 graphics. The performance level is sufficient for performing everyday tasks and running undemanding 3D games. The interface works smoothly, without lags.

Onboard 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory. Of these, 5.5 GB is available to the user at the first start. Expansion available with microSD card.

Battery

The battery with a capacity of 2050 mAh is responsible for autonomous work. Fly FS502 Cirrus 1 will not be able to please for a long time autonomous work... On the other hand, most of the models now offer such capacity. This is enough here for 4.5 hours at maximum load and the whole working day with average activity. Charging with a complete power supply takes about 2 hours.

Camera

Image quality issue for modern smartphones- one of the most relevant when choosing a model for everyday use. Phones have successfully pushed aside "soap dishes", which is not surprising, they are always at hand, and you do not need to carry a separate gadget for photos. Fly FS502 Cirrus 1 has a bundle of 8 and 2 megapixel cameras. The quality is acceptable, but only with sufficient lighting.

There are questions about the shutter speed, refocusing and the frame takes about 1-2 seconds. At night, there is a lot of noise and focusing problems. Video recording is in Full HD format. The front camera is suitable for video communication.

Software

Fly FS502 Cirrus 1 is operated by an operating room google systems Android 5.1 without a proprietary shell. Offers a clean interface with Google Play support.

I did not like the large number of pre-installed software, including games, online banking, clients social networks... Cleaning the unnecessary will take time and brute force settings.

Fly FS502 Cirrus 1 results

Fly FS502 Cirrus 1 is a perfectly balanced budget smartphone with a nice design. The strengths include an IPS HD display, two SIMs, a 4-core processor, 8 GB of internal memory, support for memory cards, an 8 megapixel camera, Android 5.1, FM radio. The battery life and the outdated Bluetooth v2.1 protocol may not be pleasant here.

The performance will be enough for most everyday tasks, and potential buyers of this device do not need anything else.

The price of FlyFS502 Cirrus 1 at the moment is 6490 rubles, which is acceptable for this class of device.

Pros:

  • Good quality materials and workmanship;
  • Good IPS screen
  • The current version of the operating system;
  • Decent main camera.

Minuses:

  • Lack of LTE support.

It's time for another mini-review of the next Fly smartphone. This time we will consider the pros and cons of the 5-inch Fly Cirrus 1 phone (aka Fly FS502). At first glance, it has everything you need for a modern budget smartphone: 4 cores, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB ROM, 8 MP camera, Android 5.1, dual SIM support. But any gadget is learned in details, and we'll talk about them.
Reviews of other Fly models can be seen by clicking on the links:,.

Pros of Fly Cirrus 1
1. Good IPS-screen with a diagonal of 5 inches. The standard resolution for such screens is 1280x720. The pixel density is 294 ppi, so you are unlikely to see individual dots on the display. The colors and viewing angles are good. The reserve level of brightness is sufficient even for sunny days. It's a pity the screen gets dirty quickly.
2. Not bad appearance... I would say this: "The design is present." And it's nice. The phone has fillets on the top and bottom edges. Lies well in the hand. Once the screen with a diagonal of five inches seemed huge, now - that's it. The only fly in the ointment is an overly slippery back surface.
3. Two SIM cards. The size used is microSIM and miniSIM. The second SIM card supports the 2G (GSM) standard and is only suitable for telephone conversations and SMS. The first one supports 2G and 3G.
4. Operating room Android system 5.1. It is still rare on budget devices... It is clear that Android 6.0 can not be expected.
5. "Iron". The phone uses a 4-core Spreadtrum SC7731 (1.2 GHz) and a Mali-400 MP2 video processor. Let's face it, these models are already outdated. Then why is this point among the pluses? Because these parameters are enough for everyday work with the phone: calls, SMS, web surfing, social networks, instant messengers, video, audio, games, etc. During the long tests, no freezes were noticed.

Cons of Fly Cirrus 1
1. Weak battery. It will allow you to watch online videos via W-Fi for 5 hours in a row (this is our standard test). Fly traditionally uses not the most capacious batteries. Nevertheless, the phone will work quietly for several days without recharging if you use it not very actively.
2. Low memory. RAM - 1 GB (of which about 400 MB is occupied by the system), ROM - 8 GB. Initially, about 4.4 GB is available to the user, but after updating all applications, this volume will decrease to 3 GB. Music, videos and other content can be stored on microSD cards. If you want to install or transfer applications to an SD card, you will need to perform several not the most simple operations (for instructions, look at the w3bsit3-dns.com forum). I still did not like that when the lock is removed, an inscription appears every time a reminder of the absence installed map memory.
3. Poor work of the standard program for the camera. I have not come across it myself, but on the Internet they often write that autofocus sometimes does not work correctly. In this case, it is recommended to use third-party clients (for example, Camera FV 5). There is no built-in ability to shoot panoramas. But in general, the main camera of 8 megapixels is not bad.
4. There is no way to quickly turn on silent mode through the top notification bar. For many, this is not a problem, but if you often find yourself in those places where the sound needs to be turned off, you will understand me. You will either have to use the volume control button or go further into the settings.
5. Not very sensitive GPS-receiver. Under the same conditions, with a difference of half an hour, the phone can pick up 6-7 satellites, or maybe only 2-3. Accordingly, the difference in measurement accuracy will differ several times.
6. No 4G support.
7. The price is still a little overpriced. For 6 490 rubles. you can find cheaper smartphones with similar specifications.

Software
Fly Cirrus 1 got the new Android 5.1 OS. No branded shells - almost "bare" Android. Traditionally, Fly smartphones have several additional applications and games. It is worth mentioning the 2GIS map service, the clients of the Vkontakte and Odnoklassniki social networks, the MEGOGO online cinema, the Clean Master applications (to clear the phone memory) and Change Yo! Voice (to change your voice during a phone call).

Battery and run time
The battery capacity is 2,050 mAh. The battery is removable. Battery model BL8605 (3.8 V).
When watching an online video on YouTube, the smartphone lasted only 5 hours (brightness and volume in the middle, listening through headphones, mobile Internet and Bluetooth are disabled). Unfortunately, Fly smartphones usually do not have a long battery life. However, the official description says so: "video playback time is up to 5 hours." According to the developers, the phone should work up to 8 hours in talk mode, and up to 180 hours in standby mode.
Full charging time from the standard charger (1 A) - 2.5 hours. Everything is standard here.

Test results
AnTuTu Benchmark - 19,200 points
Quadrand Standad Edition - 4,900 Points
3DMark (Ice Storm Extreme, 1080p) - 1,740 points
Epic Citadel - 35.7 fps 1280x720 HQ

The results are modest. Again, this is not the fastest processor and video processor installed here.

Nice expensive design, no brakes, good ipies display, high-quality assembly, good body materials, it fits nicely in the hand. Latest system 5.1. I wanted to take a Sony phone for 8 thousand, but there is a display of 4 or 4.5 and it is a tft display, that is, the image is not so hot and old android, 4.1 and 4.2. Everything seems to be in place. And the most important thing is a whole gig of operatives, a rarity in the cheap segment. Relatively low price! for 6.5 he took. The phone is really thin! It is very convenient and does not take up a lot of space and this is a big plus, which outweighs many of the minuses.

Well, personally, I liked it for its characteristics, it is so compact and in general the filling is a normal 8 megapixel camera, the Spreadtrum SC7731 processor does not hang normally and 4 cores are generally enough for the eyes Operating system generally do not care what is the most important thing that would work, the screen is normal at angles everything is perfectly visible, the camera shoots well but not higher and not lower exactly at its 8 megapixels, the 2050 battery is enough when using the camera to sit on the Internet and watching the video was enough for me personally for one day and 16 hours so the battery is normal, in general, I'm happy with the phone.

The SIM card selection window closes when you press the call, you have to dial the number again. The phone lock sensor hangs during a call, reboot helps. The microphone is very weak, you have to talk in raised tones. Weak battery, in the evening the battery charge remained at 20 percent, in the morning the phone was cut off (with the radio modules off). GPS only works on Yandex and Google maps.

microphone is a tin, the interlocutor strains to understand what they are talking about. the speaker is also strange, then it yells, then some kind of extraneous sound appears ... i.e. the phone function is running at a very low level. viber is generally a dead number ...

Battery and camera. Preinstalled apps, but you can uninstall them. It looks like a branded phone, but still it's a fly, you won't be fooled, although who like and what. Now you won't surprise anyone with the phone, but I think whoever is younger will not agree with me. I must say right away that the photos will not be great, but acceptable.

And now, as expected, let's move on to the "dark" sides of the smartphone hidden by the box from the buyer. First, the battery. Of course, they saved on batteries, but what can we do? "Middling". You will have to buy PowerBank or carry a charger with you. Secondly, the camera. We'll have to forget about selfies with friends - the camera (despite the fact that the front is 2 Mp) is a shame to show to friends, although sometimes, under excellent lighting, the camera becomes a miracle. Thirdly, the aluminum inscription "Fly" on the cover of the smartphone - a piece, apparently, did not fit tightly at the factory and came out with a burr, which even hurt me (unfortunately, I could not exchange it, but after sitting a little over it, everything became fine). Fourthly, the autofocus of the front camera - consider it - it simply does not exist. The camera takes soapy, blurry shots 9 out of 10 times. But nevertheless, I'm in a hurry gladly

Forget about Navitel (GPS falls off), it's important to me. Not sure reception of WI FI, 3G. With the declared good characteristics, it slows down even in ordinary applications, it gets very hot. Bluetooth old version like 2, you can't pick up modern gadgets. Deadly autonomy, you will not actively use it for more than 3 hours. Much has been written about the camera or camera app. Considering the disadvantages for a regular dialer, it is expensive.

I bought two Fly cirrus 1 at once (myself and my wife).
When you call from one cirrus to another, the sound is terribly quiet. After a couple of minutes of conversation, the volume may or may not turn on. After a month of use, people with other phones began to complain that I could not be heard.
Yandex maps and Yandex navigator work very poorly on this phone - they constantly lose satellites, the location "jumps" on the map and "sticks" in different places, from which we have already driven several kilometers. I certainly understand that the developer of the phone is not responsible for the work third party applications on your phone, but with the previous Fly phone iq446 Magic didn't have such problems at all.
After a month of use, my phone stopped recognizing music on the memory card, and the built-in volume is too small to

very annoying (even strongly) constantly flies the choice of a sim card (every second time). You have to re-select the contact or dial the number (and if it was dictated, you have to ask again to repeat the number). You explain that the phone is buggy (this is the biggest anti-advertising)
