Mobile operator Motiv is currently the largest regional operator in Russia. The geography of activity includes Sverdlovsk and Kurgan regions, Khanty-Mansi and Yamalo-Nenets autonomous okrugs. History

The history of Motiv is connected with one of the three companies that were the pioneers of cellular communications in the Ural Federal District.

Since 1995, Uralvestkom began operating, whose network was based on NMT technology, a little later, in 1997, Uraltel entered the market, operating in the GSM standard, and the object of our interest will be the operator Yekaterinburg Cellular Communications, which used the DAMPS standard. which has been around since 1995.

The company did not yet have its own trademark, instead it used the Beeline brand, announced two years earlier.

However, in 2002 VimpelCom began independent activities in the Ural Federal District, and Yekaterinburg Cellular Communications needed its own trademark.

A telecommunications group "Motiv" was created, which included, in addition to LLC "Yekaterinburg-2000", which was engaged in cellular communication and providing Internet access, three more companies:

• LLC "European-Asian Highways" (intrazonal communication).
• LLC "Mobifon-2000" (satellite, international and intercity communication).
• CJSC Perm Telephone Company (landline telephone communications in the Perm Territory).

Around the same period, the creation of a new network operating in the GSM-1800 standard began, since by that time the DAMPS format had become obsolete.

Competitors in this field are Uraltel and which came to the market at the beginning of the 2000s and operated under the Utel brand.

By 2010, the license for the frequencies used by the DAMPS network will expire and the network will cease to operate, but special problems for Motiv it didn’t work. By that time, the subscriber base had reached two million people, which is quite a lot by regional standards.

In 2011, following the results of the competition, the operator became the owners of licenses for the provision of communication services in three more regions, albeit far from the most prestigious ones: the Kurgan Region, Khanty-Mansiysk and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Districts. The commercial operation of the networks began with the fledging of the schedule - already in 2012 they started working in all three regions.

The lack of licenses for 3G mobile Internet became a serious problem. During the corresponding competitions, all frequencies went to members of the then “big three”, and the rest of the operators were “overboard”.

But a little later, it was possible to smooth out its severity a little: Motiv received a license to use frequencies for 4G, and at the end of 2014 the mobile Internet started working in all regions of the operator's presence.

In 2016, the general director of Motiv, Vyacheslav Yukhimovich, died untimely, and Alexei Gennadievich Artemasov, who had worked in the company since the early nineties, was appointed to replace him, and he heads it at the time of this writing.

In 2019, a cooperation agreement was concluded between the operator and the manufacturer of telecommunications equipment, within the framework of which new technologies will be introduced to increase the speed of work in LTE networks, preparations are underway for the introduction of the fifth generation mobile Internet and test the redistribution of frequencies between 2G and 4G.

In the "national rating" of the popular resource banki.ru, the operator takes eleventh place.

Not that very impressive result, but the company follows almost immediately after the "big four".

Other large regional operators with their own networks, it seems, did not even make it into the top twenty, and most of the first positions in the rating do fall on fresh MVNOs of the type, actively conducting advertising work with potential clients and those who have not yet managed to acquire a "collection" of haters.

It is not accepted in our country, and probably in the whole world, to waste time on gratitude for the services rendered without appropriate motivation.

There are still a couple of positive reviews.

The first thing that attracts attention is the comparison with the "Big Four" in terms of imposing paid subscriptions, and clearly not in favor of the latter. This is especially sinful.

The coverage is also praised, at least in the Sverdlovsk region. How things stand in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug or the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug is still a big question.

But even in positive reviews there is a complaint about the lack of 3G Internet and profitable roaming in Russia.

Basically, the complaints are about the speed and stability of the connection.

Several complaints about the company's untidiness in relation to its subscribers: write-offs of funds, creation of debts from scratch and other "fun" that small mobile operators are so fond of.

Like any self-respecting provider of telecommunications services, Motiv Telecom offers its subscribers equipment at fairly reasonable prices.

However, its quality often leaves much to be desired.

And although the company itself does not have production facilities, and orders modems and routers in China, the responsibility for such situations still lies with it.

There were practically no reviews of Motiv Telecom on other Internet resources. But on the whole, the picture is more or less clear. There are too many complaints about fraud from the company to be ignored.

And with the speed of the mobile Internet, again, not everything is in order.

But in any case, the operator is one of the largest players in the telecommunications services market in the Sverdlovsk region, and, importantly, it has its own network.

And its subscriber base is more than solid by the standards of the second echelon, although it does not even come close to the outsider of the "big four" -.

National roaming is a service that allows you to use communication services in the networks of other mobile operators on the territory of the Russian Federation, outside the boundaries of the territory of the "Big Ural".

International roaming is a service that allows you to use communication services outside the Russian Federation.

Access to the "International roaming" service is provided if there is more than RUB 300.00 on the personal account.

The communication service is provided at the tariffs of the serving communication operator in the region of the subscriber's stay. Settlements for communication services are made with the Communication Operator with whom the Agreement has been concluded. The service is not provided concurrently with the "Voice mail (HLP)" service.

The service "I'm online" allows you to notify of your appearance in the network to subscribers who could not get through when the called subscriber's phone was turned off or was out of the network coverage area.

As part of the service, the cost of an outgoing connection to the numbers of mobile and fixed-line operators in the Russian Federation is 2.50 rubles per minute, excluding outgoing connections to the numbers of the connection region and MOTIV numbers. Outgoing connections to numbers of the region of connection and to MOTIV numbers are charged according to the tariff plan.

The service applies only to the region of connection.

The service allows you to receive incoming calls in national roaming without charging an additional fee, and also to reduce the cost of all incoming calls while in international roaming to 7.70 rubles per minute of connection.

Services are provided under the terms of tariffication without charging a subscription fee.

Prices are indicated in rubles including VAT 18%.

In case of non-use of the Communication Services for 89 consecutive calendar days, starting from the 90th day, a subscription fee of 5 rubles per day is charged. The subscription fee is charged until the zero value of the balance on the personal account is reached.

The contract for communication services will be considered terminated due to the subscriber's unilateral refusal to execute the Agreement if the subscriber does not use paid services, or will not replenish your personal account.
