Let's continue our conversation about browser settings - today we'll talk about Visual Bookmarks.

It’s not even worth mentioning that visual bookmarks are much more convenient than text bookmarks. They are called visual because you open your browser and, without straining your eyes, quickly find the site you need, literally by its appearance.

The first browser that thought of this function was OPERA, and this was in 2007. I assume that this is another big white ball in favor of Opera, which was appreciated by users.

Later, a browser plugin was created, developed by Yandex. It is very easy to download this plugin into your browser. You need to go to its page from the browser on which you want to install it and go through the proposed settings.

You will only need this plugin if you have an old version of the browser, since new versions have built-in visual bookmarks. Let's see how to activate and configure them.

Let's start with some general points.

Any browser has basic elements:

1. Address line, this is where the address of the site you are looking for is entered;
2. The button to open a new tab is “+”. By clicking on this plus sign, we open a new tab on which visual bookmarks will be displayed;
3. Back arrow - return to the previous page. It works on a specific tab.
4. Button - Settings or Menu, when you open it, you will see all the browser options;
5. Home or Start page button;
6. "Downloads" button.
7. "Add to bookmarks" button

Now let's look at the visual bookmark settings for specific browsers.

1. Firefox browser

In order to open visual bookmarks, you need to click on the plus sign. A new browser tab will open, which is sometimes called Express Panel or Visual Bookmarks. This is how they open in all browsers.

A required element of these pages (again in all browsers) is the Yandex search bar. It’s very convenient - enter a request and immediately receive a search results page in Yandex.

Initially, you will be offered standard tabs with a list of the most popular pages. By hovering your mouse over the tab, you can:
1. Go to settings - change the page address, for example.
2. Pin the page to this tab;
3. Remove this page from the tabs;

To add a page, all you need to do is copy the page address from the address bar, click on the plus tab, a pop-up window will appear, enter the address and page name in the bottom field. Click on the Save button and the page will appear in Visual Bookmarks.

If you go to the bottom of the page, you will see an active link - Settings. By clicking on it, you will have the opportunity to select the page background from the provided library or download from your computer.
In order to create a certain number of tabs, just move the slider. By clicking on the button - Other parameters, you can check the checkboxes to remove the search bar, show the bookmarks bar and make the page the start page. By the way, it’s very convenient to open the browser and immediately get to the selection of pages.

There is another checkbox - Send anonymous statistics. This is done for search engines to collect statistics of frequently visited sites. But if you have the feeling that you are being spied on, do not make this choice.

2. Yandex browser

Tabs open in the same way - click on the “plus”. The settings are very similar. When you open it, you will be taken to the “Tableboard” option. If you click on “Downloads”, all information on the latest downloads will appear.
"Recently closed" - all recently used tabs will open. .
"Add-ons" - browser settings options.

To configure or delete a tab, you need to click the gear at the bottom - settings. In order to see all your tabs - All tabs. To add a new tab - Add. The principle of adding is the same as in Firefox.

3. Opera browser. My favorite.

Tabs can also be opened by pressing the Plus sign.
The appearance is very similar to Yandex. There are also tabs: express panel, bookmarks, recommendations. Only Recommendations are a display of interesting sites on a specific topic that you configure yourself.

A corner opens in the lower right corner asking you to change the home page to a new one. The new one is not too different from the old one, only the quick access panel to Bookmarks and Recommendations moves to the left. I don’t really like the new panel, since only the favicon is displayed in the tabs. And the old one displays the familiar appearance of the site.

Adding sites to bookmarks is done in the same way as in previous browsers. But Opera has the ability to quickly add. Right-click on the body of the site that you want to bookmark, a pop-up window opens, the link is Add to Express Panel. Very simple and convenient!

By the way, the number of tabs is not limited.

4. Chrome Browser

Chrome's visual bookmarks are very informative. Top row - Exchange rates. Just below is the News Feed. Moreover, the information is given based on the statistics of your requests, which is very convenient.

At the bottom of the screen are settings.

Browsing history - go to browser settings and delete the cache.

The procedure for adding sites to the panel is also very convenient: click on the plus tab and a window with the listed sites will pop up. Just click on the selected one and the fields will be automatically filled in. You can edit something and save it
