How to unlock your phone if you forgot your password, PIN code or pattern. How to disable the PIN code of a SIM card on an iPhone Disable the PIN code on Android Samsung

With the release of Windows 10, users have access to this convenient feature, like locking the system using a PIN code. How is Windows 10 PIN blocking different from regular blocking? First of all, by the fact that the same PIN code is placed on all user devices and, in the case of current use of the OS on any one device, all other devices become inaccessible!

This feature provides a very significant advantage compared to conventional blocking, because if attackers suddenly find out the usual password, they will be able to immediately gain access to all other user devices. While a PIN code leak will not help the attackers, provided that you are currently working on your account.

Another advantage of using a PIN code is that it is easier to log in and easier to remember, because, unlike a complex password, a PIN consists only of a set of numbers. In addition, only with a PIN you can use this Windows application 10, like an iris scanner and login using Windows feature Hello - by touch or glance, although here you no longer need to enter a PIN code, the system itself recognizes you and unlocks you.

So how to set a PIN on Windows 10? The installation procedure is very simple and will not take much time.
To enable a PIN code in Windows 10, click the " Start", then - " Options» - « Accounts».

Here select " Login Options" and in the window, in the item " Pin", click on the button " Add».

If Windows 10 asks for your account password, enter it and click " OK" If you have a Microsoft account, then enter the password for your profile and log in.

Some tips for choosing a PIN code:

Do not install simple codes, like 0000, 1234, 01234567 and the like;
- you should not set an unreasonably large PIN code, so as not to waste a lot of time entering it;
- do not use passwords from other accounts, bank accounts, cards and wallets as a PIN code.

How to change or remove your Windows 10 PIN

In order to change the Pin you need to go to settings " Login Options" and section " Pin" click on " Change».

Here you need to dial the old Pin and enter the new one twice, and press “ OK».

There are also situations when the user has forgotten his PIN code on Windows 10, or there is no need for it. In such cases, the code can always be removed. To do this, in the “Login Options” settings in the “PIN Code” section, you need to click on the line “ I don't remember my PIN code».

After this, a dialog box will appear where you will be asked to enter the password for the current account. Windows entries 10:

After successfully entering the password, you will be prompted to set a new PIN code, or click " cancellation", after which the mode Windows locks 10 by PIN code will be disabled. In addition, sometimes the system requires the user to enter a special security code to unlock the security system, usually this code arrives at the additional email address that was specified when registering an account with Microsoft.

It is worth noting that when you boot your PC into safe mode, logging in using a PIN code will not be available; you will need to enter the password for the user account.

How to disable Pin code

A PIN code is a good protection for your phone from intruders, but if you constantly forget it or think that you don’t need it at all, you can easily disable it.

First, go to your menu, find the “options” or “settings” of your phone. The name is determined depending on the model of the mobile device.

Go to this folder, select “management”, “security” or “protection”, which exactly determines the model of your phone, as described above.

Open this folder and find links such as “phone and SIM card” or “pin code”. In order to disable the pin code, select the disable pin link, but to perform this function you will need to enter your pin code, which belongs to this SIM card. After entering the code, the phone will complete the operation and the pin code will no longer be requested by your mobile device when you turn on the device.

To make it more clear to you how to disable the pin code in your mobile device, let's look at 2 specific examples. Let's take a Nokia model phone with touch screen, and also without such a screen.

So, Nokia phone. Go to the menu, select the “settings” folder, after which a new window opens, where you select the “ ” folder, then “phone management”, “protection” and ultimately go to the “phone and sim card" Here you find "request pin code", click on this window, select disable and, when prompted by the phone, enter the pin that belongs to this SIM card. After the operation you have completed, the pin is disabled.

The second option is based on the example of a Samsung phone. Go to the menu mobile phone, select the “settings” folder, then “security”, then “pin check”, click on the “disable” box, after which you will need to enter the pin. Once this operation is completed, it turns off.

If you enter the wrong pin code several times in a row, your SIM card will be blocked. In this case, you will have to contact your operator mobile communications who serves you.

Before entering your pin code, make sure you have not forgotten it, otherwise it may lead to your SIM card being blocked.

When enabled, this feature automatically unlocks your screen when at least one of the conditions you specify is met. For example, if the device is located at your home or another device of yours is connected to it via Bluetooth.

You may have previously set up Smart Lock but forgot about it. In this case, remember the given condition and fulfill it. For example, if you have added one of the Bluetooth devices to the list of trusted devices on your smartphone, enable the module on both wireless communication. Once connected, the phone can be unlocked without entering a PIN, password or key.

If Smart Lock has not been configured in advance or you cannot meet the specified condition, then this method is not suitable.

2. Bypass protection using a Google account

Some devices with old Android versions(up to 5.0 Lollipop) allow you to bypass the screen lock using Google account. But for this, the device must be connected to the Network. To check if your smartphone supports this method, enter any password, PIN or graphic key Five times.

After five incorrect entry attempts, the message “Forgot your password?” should appear on the screen. or similar hint. Click on this inscription and enter the username and password for the Google account that is the main one on your smartphone. After successful login you will be able to specify New Password or set up another method to lock the screen.

If you also forgot your Google account password, try to restore access to it using the company’s special service.

3. Use the service from the smartphone manufacturer

Some brands offer owners of their devices additional tools unlocking. For example, Samsung has a Find My Mobile service, with which you can remove a pattern, PIN, password, and even a fingerprint. To do this, your device must be linked to your Samsung account, support the service, and be online.

To find out whether such services exist for your model, look for this information in the instructions or on the manufacturer’s official website.

4. Reset the device to factory settings

If other options do not work, all that remains is to return the factory settings. This will lead to the loss of all data, copies of which are not saved in your Google account and others. But you can remove the protection from the screen.

Turn off your smartphone and remove the memory card if it was inside. Then try these key combinations in turn until one of them works (you need to press all the buttons and hold them for about 10-15 seconds):

  • Volume down key + power button;
  • Volume up key + power button;
  • Volume Down key + Power button + Home key;
  • Volume down key + Volume up key + Power button.

When the service menu appears on the display, select Recovery, and then the command Wipe data / factory reset. If none of the key combinations work or you don't see the necessary commands in the menu, look for reset instructions specific to your device model.

After this, the smartphone should return to factory settings within a few minutes. The device may request a login and password from a previously connected Google account, but you will no longer need to unlock the screen. After logging into your old account, the system will restore the settings and data synchronized with it.

All of the unlocking methods listed above are suitable not only for smartphones, but also for Android tablets.

How to unlock iPhone

If you have forgotten the password for your iOS device, you have only one option - reset to factory settings. You can do it in two ways: using iCloud and through iTunes. The first one will only work if you previously enabled the Find My iPhone function on your smartphone. For the second you will need a USB cable and a computer with installed program iTunes.

In both cases, you will not only delete the password, but also all data from the device. But if you have a backup copy iPhone, then after the reset you can restore the information saved in it: calendars, contacts, notes, SMS, settings and shopping lists in iTunes and App Store. Personal photos and videos will also not be lost if you previously synchronized them with your computer or iCloud.

1. Reset iPhone to factory settings using iCloud

To check if Find My iPhone is active on your smartphone, connect it to the Internet. Then log in account Apple ID on the iCloud website using a computer and click on the “Find iPhone” icon.

If you don't have a computer at hand, but have an iPad, iPod touch or another iPhone, you can use the standard Find My iPhone application on any of these gadgets. It works the same as the web version in iCloud.

If Find My iPhone is active, you'll immediately see your locked iPhone (in the app) or select it from the All Devices list (on the iCloud website). If the device is not displayed, proceed to the second method. Otherwise, continue.

Click on the smartphone icon, and then on the “Erase iPhone” button and follow further prompts.

This will remove your passcode and all data from your device, allowing you to set up your iPhone again.

2. Reset iPhone to factory settings via iTunes

Run on computer iTunes, then connect your smartphone to it using a USB cable.

If you have previously synced your iPhone with this computer, click on the smartphone icon in iTunes. In the menu that opens, perform synchronization again and create a fresh one backup copy devices on the computer. Then click “Restore from copy...”, select the newly created image and follow the system prompts until complete recovery.

If you've never synced your iPhone with your current computer, or iTunes also asks for a password, then most likely you won't be able to create a new backup. But you can do a reset in a special mode, and then restore the device from old copies (if any). Follow these steps to reset:

1. Force restart your iPhone.

On iPhone SE, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, and older models, hold down the Home key and the top (or side) button for 10 seconds or more until the recovery screen appears.

On an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, hold down the Side key and the Volume Down button for 10 seconds or more until you see the recovery screen.

On an iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus, hold and immediately release the volume up key and then the volume down key. After that, press and hold the Side button until the recovery screen appears.

2. When the recovery dialog box appears on your computer display, click “Restore” and follow the iTunes prompts.

3. If the iPhone exits recovery mode while iTunes is downloading necessary files from the Network, press the forced restart buttons again and hold them until the device returns to this mode.

Although the instructions for both reset methods are based on the iPhone, they will also work if you suddenly forget your iPad password.

The use of a PIN code is provided by mobile phone manufacturers to protect against the hands of fraudsters. However, if the owner is forgetful and finds it difficult to enter the password every time, the question arises - how to remove the PIN code from the SIM card so that this function no longer bothers him.

Disabling the PIN code on your phone: algorithm of actions

To disable the function, you must:

  • go to the device settings - to modern phones they are represented by a corresponding icon with the inscription;
  • select "Phone", "Confidentiality" or "Security";
  • in the list that opens, go to SIM-PIN and move the switch to position 0, or simply uncheck the box in the “Display passwords” line.

Here the device will ask you to re-enter your PIN. If the user does not remember it, they should use the PUK code - a security combination of 10 numbers. You can find out in three ways:

  • in the contract concluded with the operator cellular communications– most often it is written down in the document;
  • on a plastic card issued along with the SIM card - unlike the PIN code, information about the PAK code is not classified;
  • at the support service - by calling the operator and confirming your identity, you can find out the code set of the PUK code.

An incorrect PIN code entered three times will only block the password itself, which will require its replacement in the future. If you make a mistake in typing the PUK code 10 times, this leads to blocking of the SIM card itself. And you will be able to use your number only after it has been restored.

Since checking the PIN code is an immediate component of the SIM card itself, after removing it, the password will not be requested on any device in which this SIM card is installed. This means that even after purchasing a new phone, you will not need to enter a code when turning it on.

Why disable the PIN code?

The need to disable a password from a mobile phone may arise for various reasons. Firstly, if the device is used by an elderly person, it may be really difficult for him to dial a four-digit combination of numbers when turning it on. Secondly, today SIM cards are often used for modems - and here a code set of numbers is also constantly requested. Considering that entering the password incorrectly leads to the phone being locked, it is easier to disable this option. Also remove the code is the best option in the case where the owner does not remember it.

Since the PIN code is designed to ensure the safety of the owner’s data from hacking if the phone is lost or stolen, device manufacturers recommend leaving the PIN verification function enabled.

If the password is difficult to remember, it is easy to change it to another one. You can change it in two ways:

  • dial the command **04*хххх*zzzz*zzzz#, where хххх is the current password, and zzzz is the new one;
  • go to the phone settings, select Security or Lock (depending on the model), press Codes or PIN code, go to “Change PIN code” - and the device will first ask for the current and then a new password, which must be entered twice.

Before removing the password from the SIM card, you should make sure that you have the PAK code so that there are no difficulties in the process of disabling the function. If necessary, the option to check the PIN code can be returned at any time - there are no restrictions on the number of times.

Some people believe that locking the screen with a PIN code is not necessary. If you are one of these people, then read this article and you will learn how to disable the PIN code on the lock screen.

Any phone or tablet, after pressing the power button, requires swiping across the screen, that is, swiping your finger. After these actions you will be taken to the main menu. But some people don’t like blocking or have other reasons to turn it off.

Types of lock screens

If you disable the blocking completely, it can lead to some problems. It’s not just that Google improves functions in locked mode. If you don't like the usual way of unlocking your device, then why not try a different one?

At the time of writing, the following types of screen locks were standard for Android:

  • Swipe across the screen- the same traditional unlocking method.
  • Entering a PIN code- a very old method that is quite secure. The simplest selection of a PIN code does not work here, since after several unsuccessful attempts a timer appears - a new entry will be available only after it has expired.
  • Graphic key- ideal for those who remember visual information better than a set of numbers.
  • Fingerprint- most reliable way protect the information contained on your smartphone. It is almost impossible to outwit the fingerprint sensor.
  • Iris- its scanning is implemented in Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+. In the future, this unlocking method will be implemented in other flagship devices.
  • Entering your password- the longest unlocking method. A password differs from a PIN code in that it can contain letters and other symbols.

IN Google Play you can find many different screens locks to your taste and color. The choice is huge.

Removing the lock screen

If you still decide to remove the lock screen, then go to settings. But I want to warn you that this method may not be suitable for every device. The manufacturer of some gadgets simply prohibited removing the lock screen completely.

Go to the "Security" section

Select item "B" screen lock"

Here click " No" or " Absent».

If there is no such item, then most likely there is no way to disable the lock screen.

What to do if you forgot your password

If you have forgotten your password, it is very sad. It is almost impossible to unlock your phone without losing data. There is one way, for this you need to enter the password incorrectly several times. After entering the password incorrectly, you will be asked to enter data from the Google account that is linked to the phone.

If this method did not help, then all that remains is, this will delete all data from the phone, including the screen lock.
